The Spanish Civil War

Air raid In 1936, a military revolt against the Spanish government led to a war involving Nazi Germany and fascist Italy, and brought anti-fascist volunteers to Spain from around the world.in defence of democracy. Democracy? Not exactly. In february of 1936 there was elections in Spain, and also there was fraud in some electoral districts, for example in my district.


Franco's regimen was a terrible dictatorship, but de Second Spanish Republic wasn't exactly a democracy... Still are not clear for everybody the true results of those elections.

thanks for the info! do you know if the Jewish Currents text is available?
there is also the Arno Lustiger Book “Schalom Libertad: Juden in der Spanischer Burgerkrieg.” (Shalom Libertad: Jews in the Spanish Civil War). From my knowledge, it has yet to be translated, and only exists in German at the time being. The translation is on my to-do list, but who knows when that will ever happen!
